Distribution changed from the odontoblast cell layer to the dentine-enamel junction during tooth mineralization...

Secretory stage
Expression: stratum intermedia, ameloblasts, enamel, odontoblasts
No expression: outer enamel epithelium, stellate reticulum, dental papilla, dental sac, predentin, dentin

Tuftelin mRNA was detected by RT-PCR since mouse embryonic day 13 (bud stage).
