Osteocalcin is specific marker for differentiated odontoblasts, never seen in the epithelial portion of the tooth. However osteocalcin is also seen in osteoblasts and osteocytes and cellular cementoblasts and cementocytes. (Text by A.L.J.J. Bronckers)
