Expression of dentin phosphoprotein in mouse tooth

DSPP (gene); DPP (protein); (Translation product of DSPP cleaved into dentin phosphoprotein (DPP) and dentin sialoprotein (DSP))

Species: mouse
Tooth: molar
Method: immunochemistry, antibody: monospecific polyclonal

Secretory stage
Expression: odontoblasts, predentin, dentin
No expression: outer enamel epithelium, stratum intermedia, stellate reticulum, ameloblasts, enamel, dental papilla, dental sac

DPP is expressed from same transcript as dentin sialoprotein (DSP). DPP is believed to function in initiation of dentin mineralization.
